The colonists had prospered and had access to a variety of resources when the IMC left the Frontier. The IMC quickly prioritised a number of significant disputes in the Core Systems and basically stopped making investments in the Frontier.ĭespite that, however, life on the Frontier continued unabated for many generations. Public interest declined once the age of IMC-funded space exploration and colonisation came to an end, and IMC funding for Frontier development decreased. How the 9th Fleet fits into the Militia's larger organisational structure is still unknown. Prior to their ambush and annihilation in the Battle of Typhon, they were in charge of transporting the 41st Rifle Battalion to the IMC planet Typhon. The 9th Militia Fleet, which is mostly made up of the Militia's brand-new MacAllan-Class Carriers, is another fleet that the Militia manages. Along with divisions of regular infantry like the 41st Militia Rifle Battalion and the units inside it such the 3rd Militia Grenadiers and 2nd Militia Fusiliers, this Corps has a number of "Regular" Pilots that fly regular Titans like Tone or Ion. The MCOR has been reorganised and is now a "Corps" under the SRS. Vanguard-class Titans are operated by SRS Pilots, who are always ranked as Officers. The SRS is divided into a number of sub-units, including the elite Pilots and the Marauder Corps supporting cast. The recently established Special Recon Squadron, a branch in charge of the Militia's unique tasks and assignments, is one of these branches. Although it is presently uncertain if the Brigade deployment concept is still in use, the Militia now runs a number of branches that serve as functional substitutes for more conventional branches like the Army, Navy, and Air Force. The Militia has been significantly restructured in the wake of the Battle of Demeter to more successfully take on the IMC. It is probable that a fleet does not have a consistent make-up because the Militia relies on older, salvaged warships and converted civilian boats and lacks a fixed industrial base to operate from. Prior to General Anderson's passing just before the Fracture Operation, the 1st Militia Fleet was under the leadership of Sarah Briggs and Bish aboard the flagship Redeye. A smaller Brigade subunit is known as a Corps. The Marauder Corps of the 1st Militia Fleet is one such example of a Corps. A Brigade most likely performs comparable duties as an Army Group in the real world.Ī Corps is a subunit of the Militia that has unspecified numbers of members, including pilots and riflemen. The Militia has the resources to pose a serious challenge to the IMC's plans on the Frontier, despite the fact that several brigades are nothing more than sizable pirate gangs. For instance, the Freeport Brigade was a group of resources tasked with guarding the Freeport System.Ī brigade can range in size from tiny cells and groups of agents to enormous organisations made up of many ships or infantry battalions. This division followed their victory at Demeter (not to be confused with the real-world Brigade military unit). Prior to their restructure, the Militia organised their troops largely into "Brigades," which were made up of all Militia forces allocated to a certain area or system of Frontier space. The Militia has subsequently undergone restructuring to more closely resemble a professional, organised fighting force in the wake of the Battle of Demeter. The Militia's organisational structure has always been ad hoc and comprised of groups as large as whole fleets or as tiny as single terrorist cells.
